We are thrilled to announce that Seafood City, an exciting new seafood boil restaurant, is set to open its doors at The Arcadian this June. This innovative dining experience is brought to you by the team behind the popular Vietnamese Street Kitchen.

Seafood City occupies a 2,746 sq. ft unit at The Arcadian, a vibrant hub of restaurants offering cuisines from around the world. This new addition is expected to become a favourite among seafood lovers in Birmingham.

Rob Ellis, Director and Asset Manager for The Arcadian, expressed his excitement about the new letting: "We are delighted to welcome Seafood City to The Arcadian. This new restaurant is a fantastic addition to our diverse range of dining options, and we are confident it will be a hit with our visitors."

Seafood City draws inspiration from the traditional southern ‘seafood boil’ popularised in Louisiana's Deep South. This cooking method, known for locking in the rich flavours of the sea, has been embraced and enhanced by the Vietnamese community, creating a unique fusion that has captivated London and is poised to become a sensation in the Midlands.

General Manager, Oliver Ngo, is expecting the ‘get down and dirty’ concept to be trending here in Birmingham in the not-so-distant future.

He said: “It’s all about diving right in, putting your bib aprons on and getting your hands messy so that you can enjoy seafood in an unpretentious way. The idea is to bring friends, families and seafood lovers together to enjoy the riches of the sea in the simplest way possible.

“The seafood boil is a wonderful way to enhance individual flavours and textures. Our concept is simple, you can boil your choice of seafood, pairing it with our signature sauce, garlic butter or our XXL sauce for those who like it hot!

The brand concept and interior design by Faber is an explosion of neon colour and bright lights and will be just as bold as the menu.

Inspired by the energy and visual excitement of Asian cities, the designers coined the term ‘retro-futurism’ - think K-Pop meets Tokyo - a bold and colourful identity inspired by Japanese typography - and a hidden mascot, Larry the Lobster - spot him if you can!

The drinks offering is exciting too with international lagers on tap and a specially curated cocktail menu.

The venue is in the unit once occupied by Rozu and will seat 99 people inside with a cocktail bar as the centrepiece, plus outdoor seating for lazy days in the sun, sipping cocktails. The independently owned business will create 22 full and part-time jobs.

Vietnamese Street Kitchen already has successful venues in Bullring and Resorts World and is looking forward to launching its new concept, Seafood City, towards the end of June.

Ruth Bourton, of LCP's in-house legal team, completed the transaction.
